I've revived the project with a minor addition allowing for OWA setups where the user name does not match the users e-mail folder on OWA. A new text box is available via a web.config setting which will allow the user to enter an e-mail address that can be used for resolving the OWA user folder. Look for a full release in the near future.

The Future of iPhOwa

I am very excited about Steve Jobs' announcement yesterday that full ActiveSync support will be coming to the iPhone. iPhOwa was always intended as a temporary solution. Two days later version 0.1 is ultimately the proof of concept.

Download version 0.1 at http://code.google.com/p/iphowa/downloads/list.

It is far from complete but it is usable and it supports the following:

View your inbox and other message folders.

View message contents.

What it doesn't support yet, but there is no reason it can't in the future:

Marking read items as being "read".

Replying or composing a new message.

Viewing other items (i.e. Calendar, Contacts, Notes)

I will continue to improve it as I have time, but help is more than welcome. I have created a Google Code project for it at http://code.google.com/p/iphowa/.
